I taught first grade before I taught algorithms.

After teaching, I wrote for a national marketing agency, ran marketing and owned the corporate LinkedIn page for a B2B education publisher, and directed an education program at Sylvan, where I hired and trained the staff. In 2023 I took over content and SEO for a five-brand portfolio spanning regulated healthcare, DTC ecommerce, and B2B services, and I've run it alone since.

Running five brands alone means I stopped writing everything by hand and started building the machinery that produces it. Custom AI agents that research, draft, and score the work against a standard I wrote. I still edit every line before it publishes. That turns out to be the part that matters. Anyone can generate a draft now. The job is knowing which drafts are wrong, which claims can't be made in a regulated category, and what has to change before a real person reads it.

In the middle of all that, I also wrote a humor-forward parenting blog for over a decade. Nobody was required to read it. Ten years of that will teach you more about holding someone's attention than any content course will.

The through-line, if there is one, is subject matter where the answer is genuinely contested and getting it right matters to somebody. Regulated categories. Health decisions. Places where a sloppy claim isn't just bad writing, it's a real problem for a real person. That's the work I'm actually good at.
